Set that timer for 20. We are going to organize some of your digital files using the folders you created yesterday. As you’re filing, resist the urge to keep creating more folders - you want your file categories to be as broad as possible. Labeling the individual files with coherent names that you can search for is much easier that creating infinite folders for each type of file.
If you’re like most people, there’s very little chance of finishing organizing your digital files tonight. I’d like you to work on it for 5 minutes every time you are at your computer, or even 5 minutes every evening or morning when you first sign on. Don’t be afraid to delete old files - they can be just as obsolete as that tax write-off receipt from 1994.
Once you’ve done 20 minutes of filing, you’re done for the day. See you tomorrow to talk about cloud storage!
