Simplified 365: The Office - Day 16: Digital Filing (Part 1: Set Up)

Now that we’ve tackled paper filing, let’s give digital filing a look.  Today I’d like you to set up a similar file system on your computer as the paper one you created yesterday.  In your documents folder, create files that correspond with the physical ones you created:

  • Healthcare
  • Insurance
  • Autos
  • Important
  • Banking
  • Investments 
  • School 
  • Home Maintenance 
  • Taxes
  • Pets
  • Children

I find it helpful to create folders for each past year within each of these categories.  I.e. Healthcare may have folders that say "2016" and "2017" in them where past documents go, while the current year's stay in the maine  Once you have the folders created, you’re done for the day. :)
