Appliances and kitchen gadgets are one of the hardest things to sort through, but I have faith in you.
We are on a hunt for the unloved, unused and single tasking appliances and kitchen tools.
Do you have a panini maker you’ve only used once since your wedding? Or the immersion blender that you’ve used 3 times, but then purchased a Vitamix? Or maybe you use the immersion blender every morning when you make smoothies?
The point here is to make 3 piles. Use weekly, use yearly for holidays, use never.
I think you know what to do with the “use never”. Into a donate bag they go! The use weeklies go back from whence they came; we will organize them soon. The use yearly: I want you to think about them, think about whether or not there is another item that could do the same task, and whether using it once a year is worth the space it takes up in your kitchen. If you have a kitchen with plenty of space, fine; but if not, maybe you could borrow a similar gadget from family or friends that one time a year you need it.
If you need a little inspiration, search for:
- Hand mixers
- Immersion blenders
- Panini makers
- Electric sandwich makers
- Waffle irons
- Coffee makers
- Countertop grills
- Cherry pitters
- Melon-ball makers
- Pizza cutters
- Bottle openers
- Garlic presses
Basically anything electric or non-electric that you may not be using.
