Simplified 365: The Clothes - Day 13: Pants

Good job!  You’re more than a third of the way through your wardrobe! 

Today we’re moving on to all non-jean, non-workout pants:

  • Slacks
  • Trousers
  • Leggings
  • Jumpsuits
  • Capris
  • Work pants

Set that timer for 20, grab your pants and bring them all over to your bed.  

If you have a few pairs of favorites that you wear weekly, set those aside and let’s look at the rest. 

Are they:

  • Out of style?
  • Too short?
  • Too long?
  • Not “you”?
  • Aspirational? (From a past corporate life, or pre-baby body?)
  • Stained?
  • Worn-out?
  • Stretched out?

Whatever they are, this is one area where I encourage you to truly only keep what you love.  I know  of an internationally known speaker that that lives with only 1 pair of pants.  He wears the same pair everyday, while traveling the globe.  Surely you could pare down to 4 or 5 pairs that you just love?

I’ve personally been getting by with 3 pairs of leggings and 2 pairs of slacks for the past year and haven’t noticed a great need to have more.  I don’t even wear all of those in the week between laundry days.  I also found that having leggings really lessened those “oh God, I’m fat and my pants don’t fit” moments.  You can’t help but feel good in a pair of leggings that always fits, even when the scale fluctuates.
