About The Simplified Life.
Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kat Reichmuth and I have been organizing friends and family for the better part of my life. I can remember back to when I was 8 and kept the most orderly playhouse this side of the Mississippi. Raised by a mother that took the saying “cleanliness is next to Godliness” at face value, I have always known the joy of having a well-kept, organized home and life.
I moved to the Los Angeles area in 1999 to attend Cal Poly Pomona and received a Bachelors of Science at the Collins School of Hospitality Management located on the CPP campus. Basically, it was a business degree with a lot of food, wine and restaurants involved. In 2007, after deciding I received much more joy eating and drinking in a restaurant rather than managing one, I followed my passion and started my own company dedicated to my first loves of simplicity and orderliness. Combining those loves with a desire to promote “green” house keeping practices is at the core of what the simplified life. is. I have since moved back to the Bay Area to be near family and am enjoying the chance to bring orderliness to my beloved San Francisco.
Have you ever had the chance to live in or at least look inside a house built in the 1950s or before? Did you notice the small closets? The single bathroom? The small kitchen? It was a different world back then; one where people wore the same suit to work more than one day a week. Don’t get me wrong, I love many of the joys and toys of modern living, but what if, for a moment, we could regain some of that feeling that what we have is enough? In this age of McMansions, walk in closets and storage spaces to keep all the stuff you have but don’t use, wouldn’t it be nice to derive joy from every single item you own? Imagine being able to not only find what you need, when you need it, but also getting to enjoy the aesthetic appeal of having a tidy, organized home.
Don’t wait another second to realize an orderly, decluttered life. I look forward towards helping you experience a life free of clutter and full of deeper satisfaction.
Sincerely,
Kat Reichmuth
